[Open.ogc] Data source mysteriously disabled

Yesterday I got a panicked email from one of the users of our
geoserver-powered map that the layers weren't working.

Sure enough the error messages produced from the WMS calls said that our
data source was not enabled.

I checked our data source (nmfs_st) on geoserver and it was disabled, as
were all of the layers that were built off it.

By simply checking the "Enabled" box on the data source, everything sprang
to life.

We have not made any changes in the last two weeks.

Can anyone explain how our data source could have been disabled? Was it the
result of maintenance on the system?
