David de Gea's contract will expire at the end of the summer and Manchester
United are currently in negotiations for a new one. It's expected that they
will offer him terms comparable to their other top earners.
Marcus Rashford has made an impression under Ten Hag this season and the
club are reportedly keen to secure his services. With talks now
progressing, it appears United could close in on a long-term agreement soon.
1. De Gea
De Gea has earned himself a reputation as one of the most patient
goalkeepers in world football, and that trait has served him well during
his time at Old Trafford. It's this patience which has allowed him to
overcome many challenges throughout his time there.
He has made 486 appearances for Manchester United since joining them in
2011 for a record-breaking PS18.9 million fee and looks set to surpass Alex
Stepney's Premier League appearance record this season.
So far, the Spaniard's career has been an impressive one; he's won two
Europa League titles and one Premier League crown while at Chelsea.
Additionally, he is now their first choice goalkeeper both domestically and
internationally.
He is a key figure for United, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer counts on him to
keep them unbeaten. And he's made some remarkable saves to ensure this
remains the case.

2. Rashford
Rashford has found his form this season, helping United win the Carabao
Cup, climb into contention for top four and remain in contention for FA Cup
and Europa League success. Last night his 28th goal against Brentford
equalled Zlatan Ibrahimovic's haul from 2016/2017 season; he is now
joint-top scorer across all competitions for United.
Erik ten Hag is delighted with England international Harry Kane's form and
has predicted him to be an integral part of Manchester United's future. His
current deal expires in 2023, but ten Hag is eager to extend Europe's elite
forward for years to come.
Rashford is believed to be unwilling to leave Manchester United, however a
potential takeover has caused concern about his future. Although he could
potentially be persuaded to stay, there are suggestions he might request
assurances about his role at the club before signing a new contract.

3. Dalot
Dalot has had a difficult time at Man Utd, yet he has managed to overcome
some of his struggles. Guided by Ralf Rangnick, Dalot has been given the
chance to prove himself at Old Trafford and it appears that Dalot is
beginning to see himself as one of Manchester United's future right-backs.
But it appears he will need to impress United fans before they will give
him that chance. He has been given plenty of game time under Ralf Rangnick,
and with the pressure of facing off against three of the top teams in the
Premier League, it could well be him who takes Manchester United where they
want to go.
United may make an exception for Rashford and pay him PS400,000 per week,
however this would violate Erik ten Hag's new wage cap policy. The manager
has been enforcing a 'Ronaldo rule' which caps first-team salaries at
PS200,000 per week; this has resulted in some players receiving substantial
pay cuts.

4. Fred
Fred has been a work in progress throughout much of his United career, and
that has not always been easy. But he has shown incredible patience under
Erik Ten Hag, which speaks volumes about his growth as an individual.
He began the season with two goals and an assist in his first two matches,
but has struggled since to find a consistent rhythm. Last week's
performance against Everton - when he was outmuscled twice by Demarai Gray
during the build-up to their equaliser - only added to the growing
frustration among United supporters.
He still has one year left on his contract, but it appears likely that he
will be sold before then. Although he's a strong player and could earn
significant money in the transfer market, it appears unlikely that Ten Hag
will give him any more chances to showcase his abilities.
